Claire Wolfe

October’s Alumni of the Month article features Ms. Claire Wolfe.

Claire is one of the kindest people we know and it has been such a pleasure to serve alongside her at LIFT. She has a true servant’s heart. She has dedicated her life to serving others through nursing, and is also deeply involved in mission work in the Dominican Republic.

Since graduating from McMaster nursing in 2013, Claire has become a nurse consultant in a retirement home in Burlington, ON. Basically, she has 150 grandparents. She also works as a nurse in a respite care facility in Milton for kids with disabilities, which she describes as both wonderful and challenging.

In speaking about her time as a nurse Claire said, “Being a nurse is an incredible privilege. Being able to share God’s love with people when they are most vulnerable is truly something special.”

Claire first began working alongside Servant’s Heart Ministries in the Dominican Republic in her first year at McMaster. Since then, she has fostered strong relationships with the people who call the island their home, like Claire’s sponsor child, Franklin (as seen in the photo).

It is now Claire’s dream to help build a community centre in the village where Franklin lives. This centre will provide a safe space to promote education thereby disrupting the cycle of poverty in the village and enabling the children to dream big! Claire hopes to take a team from LIFT this upcoming May 2017 to help build the centre and connect with the community. If you are interested in being a part of her team, let her know!

When Claire isn’t working hard to make the world a better place, she attends Raptors games, plays soccer, and attends Harvest Bible Chapel.

We love Claire and have been immeasurably blessed to call her our friend.
