The last three years at LIFT have been a pretty wild ride. We have consistently seen God building his church on the campus! It has been incredible as we have sought to introduce people to the hope that is found in Jesus.
Over the years we have continually had to innovate to ensure that LIFT is a space where everyone and anyone can feel welcome, engaged, challenged and loved. This has meant that we revised, often multiple times, every single area at LIFT. From the details of how we manage garbage, arrange chairs and shoot video to the larger questions of how we train and release leaders, integrate people into the community and provide opportunities for discipleship and serving.
It has been a challenging ride at times but as a church we have always rallied to the bigger vision and adapted well. That said, we have reached a point where we have simply run out of room in our main venue, TwelvEighty Bar.
After much prayer, research and discussion we are very excited to announce that we will be moving to a two-service format on Sunday Evenings!
The services will be at 5:30PM and 7:30PM with dinner served for the whole community in between the services at 7PM.
The two service format will be launching with a trial run on October 18th with full attendance expected at both services starting October 25th!
This change is driven by a desire to create more space for more people to hear the wonderful news of the gospel. I believe that this will ultimately strengthen the community as it will ensure that at each gathering people can feel welcome and safe .
I am making two specific rallying calls to of the community:
1) We will need everyone to step up to support a serving area. This change has increased requirements from all our teams. Setup, food, welcome, teardown, communications, prayer and worship will all need extra hands to keep things running smoothly.
2) The second request is that each person choose a service to prioritize. LIFT is a growing place where it can be hard to meet people but by prioritizing your attendance at a specific gathering it will be easier to foster relationships and get integrated in to the broader community.
Note: During long weekends, the summer months and other “down” weeks we’ll run a single service format.
With much love and prayer,
LIFT Lead Pastor
